The Honeywell Home PROLTE-A provides cellular communication across the AT&T LTE Network for the Honeywell Home PROA7PLUS Alarm Panel. The panel will use this communicator to interface with the AlarmNet servers and Total Connect 2.0. A compatible cellular monitoring plan is required. Many users add cellular communication to their security systems, as it is more reliable than IP connectivity alone. An internet outage will take your panel offline if you do not have cellular backup available. AlarmNet and Total Connect 2.0 do not require a cellular communicator, but it can certainly provide greater peace of mind than only relying on IP connectivity. The Honeywell Home PROLTE-A is installed inside the designated slot on the PROA7PLUS Panel. You must power down the system completely before attempting to install the PROLTE-A Communicator. Failure to power down the system could result in damage to the communicator and/or the panel. An optional antenna called the PROLTE-ANT can be added to boost signals if needed. One very important aspect of the PROLTE-A is that it is an LTE communicator. The term LTE stands for “long-term evolution”, and the associated networks are going to be kept in service for a very long time. Even as 5G networks are inevitably rolled out, the LTE networks will be kept in-service as a back-up. Adding one of these communicators to your PROA7PLUS will “future-proof” the system and keep it connected for many years to come. Just remember that you will need a compatible monitoring plan, such as an Alarm Grid Gold or Platinum Plan (Self or Full). Being able to communicate with the AlarmNet servers is an essential part of monitoring service for the PROA7PLUS. AlarmNet forwards any incoming signals to Total Connect 2.0 and/or the central monitoring station, depending on your monitoring plan. Having a communication path set up will also allow you to control your system remotely through Total Connect 2.0, provided that the service is included in your monitor
