The Silvers Security TM Genie Board works with Genie ‘T’ Beam Garage Door Safety Sensors and re-purposes the Genie Sensors for an Alarm System. While the Genie Board was designed with the Silvers Security Alarm System in mind, the Genie Board is wired like most motion detectors whereas the Genie Board can be wired with most Security Alarm Systems supplying 12 volt power and utilizing normally closed contacts. The advantage of the Genie Board over motion detectors, is you can stay in, and work in, the house, garage, or shed without tripping the alarm, and then if another crosses the line you set, the Genie sensors and Genie board will activate the alarm. The Genie Board also includes an additional 8 pin header for a wireless transmitter chip and antenna. If utilized with the Silvers Security Alarm System, the wireless chip must communicate at 433 MHZ with a 1527 learning code; for example, in the Silvers Security Alarm System model SAS-1, I utilized the 7 pin wireless chips from QIACHIP, of which at the time of this listing is available on Amazon. The reason the Silvers Security Genie Board is sold separately is because like motion detectors, multiple Genie Boards can work with an Alarm System while only the Silvers Security model SAS-1 is sold with a Genie Board.
